    Sorry for the noob comment, but I had no idea that you could use Nikon lenses with a Canon. I assume that's with some sort of adapter and they are all manual focus?

    Yes, but the manual focus is a moot point being that the canon lenses manualy focus in video mode..

    When using the 5d to record video, you cant set the aperture manually, you can only press a button to lock the exposure. Using this, its like using an old lens on a body, you just manually turn the aperture ring and can get the desired dof and exposure
