    Hello,

Let me just start off with saying that I don't know much about cameras or photography; however, I enjoy photography and I'm interested in buying a camera.

A guy I know is selling a Canon 1D 4.2 mega pix and a 30D. Both are used, hes the first owner. Both cameras are in great condition.

    Hes asking $700 / each.

What would you guys suggest would be a better buy?

    Nature mostly

I am going to be traveling to UK, Japan, India within next few months. I really like to shoot some autumn colors.

the 1d is very old and dated, but still a great camera. the 30d is the all around better camera, you'd need the faster frame rate or weather sealing (with expensive weather sealed lenses) etc in order to choose the 1d

for nature, assuming you are doing it with a tripod and know what you are doing, I would take the 1d.

It is much heavier and bulkier, and you don't seem experienced, so for you I would say the 30d and a wide angle lens.
