obviously the canon has IS but according to the sales guy, the tamron has better glass and is $329 vs $699 for the canon. so my question is, for mainly outdoor shooting with a lot of light, is it worth it for the canon?

got it on hold for 2 days and so any quick responses are appreciated.

    I'd say neither.

    70-200 f/4 = $600
    17-50 f/2.8 tamron = $400 (i think)

get both of those, forget the 18-200

guess it depends on who's needs we're going after. again, for you guys on here it's junk, but for me it's great so far. sure the edges are not nearly as crisp as the L lenses, but all i'm taking photographs are my family. basically it's for our 4 year old.
