do that make ef-s to ef adapters, or allow through extension tubes yet? and ways that don't involve tearing apart the lens?

so you could potentially use this on a ef mount body, hmmmm

The Tamron is suppose to come out at the same time and will probably be half the price.

24-70 f/2.8L is external (extending) zoom also. the 17-55 isn't L because it's an EF-S mount (only compatible with consumer line bodies) and lacks weather sealing. The glass is better than regular EF lenses, but it may not be made to L specs although I'm not sure about that. I don't know what coatings are applied to the glass.

If you have an EF-S mount body, it is a very good lens though.

all the new designs are. And before you point out the 85 f/1.2L, remember it's an old casing design.

    wow, you win. congratulations. :ugh2:

The 70-200 F/4 was released in '99 before canon started equipping lower end L's with weather sealing. Idiot.

weather sealing is essential when a guy like tomash picks up a 1dsmkII and loses it

I know, I meant when it was available :)

Might be interesting to wait on though. I'd like to get a new lens in the next month or so. I'm trying to decide what I want first and what I will most likely use the most. Why can't I afford to get all the ranges covered at once :o
