Good lens but the Tokina 12-24 is also a good less expensive super wide angle zoom lens.

I got this lens a few months ago and haven't taken it off my Rebel XT. I love it, the pictures are great. I am amazed at how wide it really is with little distortion. Buy it.

what about the sigma 10-22? it is literally $200+ cheaper. i'd like to opt for 10mm vs 12mm even though it is a small diff. :)

just worried about quality control with sigma (read some stuff).. i guess you get what you pay for. btw, does the canon come with accessories like the sigma?

Nope, just the front & rear cap. You have the buy the lens hood separate, no carry pouch, etc.

i just got mine recently... took it up to D.C. and took photos of the monuments at night.. i could capture the whole monument in my photo. and i took the lens to NYC.. loved it. it was great in NYC since everything was so close together and wide. I was thinking about getting the sigma.. but i've read that sometimes people have problems with sigma not being so sharp or the colors not being that great. i've just heard a lot of good stuff about the 10-22 so i bought it. great lens. probably one of my favorite lenses now.

I have the shitma 10-20, its really not bad. Its not as sharp as the canon, but just as wide, same or less CA, colours are reasonable.

If you cant afford the 10-22 get the sigma, but buy it from somewhere reputable incase you get a bad copy.

Ive had a lot of fun with mine but want to sell it for a 17-40 or similar.
