    Which would you choose?

I know I can save about $200 going with the Sigma.

This will be shot with a 20D

I thought the sigma was nearly the same price.

either way, I've never heard a single bad thing about the canon, so if I were you, I'd get the canon. that's what I did.

I went with the canon, don't think you can go wrong with either but the canon lens seems to hold its value better

if you can afford the canon, do that.

if you cant (or only plan to use the lens a few times) get the sigma.

the AF mechanism on the Canon is worth the extra money over the Sigma.

    orly :o

so the canon 16-35 is the widest you can get on a FF?

  19. In all honesty, I did a lot of reading on which wide angle lens to get... I first thought of the Canon 10-22, it being a Canon lense... perhaps a little biased. Then I started to look at the price, roughly $625 or so for that lens that I may not use entirely all the time.

I read on the Sigma, and they were positive reviews, I haven't had any complaints with mine. I'm still getting used to it. I wanted the 10mm, so I don't care if I don't get an additional 2mm included.

The only difference between the two is that the Canon opens to 3.5 aperature on manual focus. Sigma opens to 4, I really have no complaints with it. I usually shoot with a tripod when I shoot low.

My Sigma 10-20mm was $474... and the pictures, and the colors are great.

    tokina 12-24 :) constant f4 & awesome build quality.

the sigma is usually a hit or miss, many soft copies on the market.
