if i try to take a photo without the flash, it comes out blurred, even after i let it focus and in direct sunlight

i would like to make my battery last longer in between recharges,
what settings would be best for getting a decent shot without flash in a decently lit area?

my camera is a Kodak DX6490

for one...kodak p&s cameras suck. they have some of the most problems and i've seen similar issues like this. without knowing what settings you have your camera set on, I can't say much more than generalizing like I did.

if you can, ditch it and get a better brand.

well you have a sumer zoom on it (10x) which brings out camera shake more so than a wideangle would. You need to watch your shutter speed and make sure its is high enough.

Get a 35mm book on the basics, it'll help. Theres some ebooks in the stickies

turning from the large LCD to viewfinder when not shooting but you still want it on will help.

kodak isn't the best, but its just a tool. Understanding how to use it is key. I use to sell that camera withteh dock and printer like crazy, paid me $15 a piece :o
