how is the auto focus on that beast??
how does the kit lens do for most normal applications?
its the farthest thignn from a beast there is in the dslr area.
AF is better than a P&S, better than a 300d, but lower than all the other canon models
the kit lens is ok, nothing great, but to replace it with an equivalant focal length will cost you some dinero
kit lens is wide and has some reach, though it is soft until stopped down to 5.6 or smaller apertures. very very soft wide open.
AF on the Rebel XT is decent for an entry level dSLR. I was able to pan with it for SCCA Solo II autocross; it did fine in AI Servo mode. AF is okay under low light with an external flash. With the internal system, it hunted a lot when using a f/2.8 max aperture lens.
If you want to be a REBEL, spring for XTi. Same AF as the 20D/30D.
wish i knew bout the XTi before my purchase of the XT.. but i do have to say the price is right.. =)
AF is decent. Well I've never really tried using higher end cams tho so I can't really compare. I shoot AI servo at D1GP events.
how much more is the XTi?
