I cant stand seafood at all, and was comparing canned tuna to canned turkey and chicken. Dont really compare:wtc:. Anyone find something that is similar in nutrients? besides the classic chicken breast? Thanks

Tuna in a pouch and tuna fillets are steps better. Doesn't get you past the sea food part though, but at least it doesn't taste like it's 10 years old.

I prefer canned tuna's taste to pouches and filets.

    Tuna is superior.
If you just wanted more protein you could go with chicken/turkey and a small protein shake to drink with it?

any kind of beans. cooked/rinsed. Yes they do pack a butt load of carbs but they are also a good source of protein. Nuts are also a good alt. They again have moderate carbs and lots of fat (mostly good fats) but still quite a bit. I snack on Almonds. Just plain Jane roasted almonds. no salt, sugar or flavors. Some times I will mix up a kind of trail mix type snack. Mini pretzels, almonds, walnuts, raisins with garlic powder (sounds like an icky combo but really good) add a little evoo shake in a bag bake on a cookie sheet rebag and go. It keeps me away from the vending machine and other junk food.

Compared to meat I wouldn't say these are a good alternatives for someone who is trying to get 200g of protein or so a day.

Those sound like some healthy snacks though if you're low on calories!

    incorrect.

"...found that 100 grams (about 3 ½ ounces ) of light tuna canned in water and drained contained 0.272 grams of omega-3 fatty acids, derived from EPA (0.047g), DHA (0.223g), and ALA (0.002g). While tuna canned in oil and drained contained almost a third less omega 3s: 100 grams of light meat tuna canned in oil and drained provided 0.202 grams of omega-3 fatty acids in the form of EPA (0.027g), DHA (0.101g), and ALA (0.074g). So... I will let you in on a little secret. If you boil tuna for about 2 minutes it loses all that disgusting tuna taste. It is pretty much tasteless after that. Add what ever you usually put on your chicken and you wont even know the difference.
