terrorist attacks  come on, these aren't civillian sheep, they are high level military commanders and career politicians in a different country. They should know better than this, or it's not the real reason.

"Natural disasters and terrorist attacks" - and I also saw something in there about getting rid of some of the command overhead.

The Canadian military sure has not done anything too spectacular over the last decade... I am not even sure they have been in a major war since the WW's?..... :dunno: I know they have some of the best snipers, but they dont get used that much, and I wonder how strong of a military they really have....

Canadian Forces have contributed to pretty much every major conflict since ww2.

The last decade we really upped it with all the missions we took on. People were averageing 33 consecutive days at home doing 3 tours... :noes: That's a lot of fucking time to be away dude.

We took part in Gulf war 1 (Providing Naval support and CF-18 Air support), took part in Kosovo with providing guidence for bombs being dropped and we also provided CF-18 Air support.

We also did our part in Somalia but due to some things that some people did the CAR (Canadian Airborne Regiment) was Disbanded ( :wtc: ).

Just google Canadian Military/Forces and you will find a wealth of knowladge on our missions/goals/accomplishments.

We actually took this hint from Australia, we've been doing this overhaul for a few years now. It's just now takeing full-swing.

American's are just NOW doing changes to their military with becoming slimmer and meaner :fawk:

We've actually done this several times just since I was in. :dunno: I don't remember which round this is, but we've had at least two prior rounds of base closings/consolidations. The fall of the Soviet Union generated the largest military reorganization since the end of WWII for us.

Whats occuring now and in the next few years will be the biggest changes that any western country has experianced... Britain, America, Canada, Australia, etc. Times are changeing, no longer are the wars of 50 million men being waged... it's slowly turning into mean lean and just watch. In a couple decades it'll start going to Private Corps.

    Times a changen boys.
