No, we manage with what we have. We havn't lost any bases since the early 90's due to the liberals. I'm happy to see them crumble I just hope whatever new government comes to power helps the military more.

The thing is Canadians didn't care 10 years ago, but now? A lot of headlines involving budgets and government is dominated with Military aspects. I'm proud to see that and I hope we get the money.

With that money our budget for our army would go from 13.8 billion to 20+ billion for the next 5 years.

It was to pay for the following.
-10,000 new troops in 5 years
-New destroyers and helo/landing party carriers (think of your version of helicopter carriers).
-New Mobile Gun System (MGS). A tank turret 120mm smooth bore on a Lav III body
    -Possible new rifles
-Formation of a Special Forces Ranger regiment which is in the makeing right now. This is a need since the (CAR) Canadian Airborne Regiment was disbanded in 1995 due to political reasons where Canadian CAR members tortured and killed some Somalies in 1993. :(

We'll have to fare with the new C7A2s :big grin: and the new urban warfare rifle in development. I can't wait till my regiment receives the new C7A2s. :x: Couple more years. :wtc:

It's will be based upon the 75th Ranger's regiment down in the United States, ment to help the JTF-2 with duties and holding ground.

Think of them as our old CAR (Canadian Airborne Regiment), they'll be quick reaction force for holding while JTF-2 takes land.

But thats all I've herd so :dunno: Nothing is for sure 'till it's all official.

The Lieberals were never going to give money to the military. They're going to keep running the country into the ground if allowed to stay in power.
