can you use old PS1 saves for PSN Classics? - answer: YES

Wondering if my old FFVII saves would work with the downloaded version of FFVII on PSN. That way I can sell my old black label copy. thanks.

How would you stick the PS1 memory card into the PS3? I don't think it's physically possible. Unless you're talking about copying saves from memory card to PC and then from PC to PS3, then it'd all have to do with software.

I already have my saves on my PS3. There's an adapter I bought. I just meant can I use those saves on the classics, or would it not recognize them?

I would assume it would recognize them since it's just a digital copy of the game. :dunno: I don't have any of my old saves... :/

I'm pretty sure it does because all PS1 games use the same save format.

I've got the same adapter, if anyone cares to buy it off me or just wants to rent it, let me know! I think it's something retarded like $40 new, but I don't really remember.

As for the OPs question, I don't know but would like an answer as well.

you would buy the adapter, and then put the sames into the virtual memory card that you created on the PS3 and boom, your done, saves work.

Shit that's not a bad idea..I still have those 3 black label games in mint condition too...and they're all pretty valuable. I've been holding onto them all these years but not really for any reason. I can get a pretty penny on The Bay for those and still own them forever. They just sit in a box anyway...

I bought that transfer cable a while back. I think it was half the price then. I took it home, used it to transfer ps2 saves, then went to return it and they wouldnt take it back - they said that it was happening too often. Good thing I kept it though because I didnt transfer PS1 games....just found all of my memory cards (damn those things had shit for space! I forgot - I have like 8 of them!). I might load up my FFVII game and finish it finally. ha!
