I'm not having any luck googling :o

I have a bunch of 7.62x39 at my parents' house in Ohio, I want it with me in Florida. It's all in an ammo can :dunno:

Some UPS stores wont ship ammo, around here only the depots will. You must have ORMD stickers on it, I'd call around and see which places will do it for you locally.

You can but I think they charge you a little extra for it not being in a box, maybe something like $5? That's what I remember anyway, maybe it has changed.

I don't know about the can, but worst case scenario is that the can goes into a box. AFAIK, for ORM-D, you have to have upwards solid arrows on opposite sides of the box, and the blue rectangle with ORM-D in it (I think you also need the consumer commodity text also) written or stamped on at least 2 sides, but I think 4. Do some reading and have your parents just do that. ORM-D is like the easiest of hazmat type stuff.

Just put it in a fucking box, bring it to a UPS depot, not a UPS store.

sigh, this is how people get fines from the DOT or the FAA, not to mention the risk if something horrible was to happen, please just follow the rules

im a UPS hazmat auditor, ormd stickers, orientation arrows and cartridges, small arms written on two opposite sides of the box are sufficient, there is even an ORMD sticker specifically for this, its black and yellow with the lettering already on it, rules are different for stuff over .50

use an good fitting overpack box to avoid the extra fee for a non-cardboard or irregular item

No biggie here, I take it to the ups depot already boxed with a preprinted tag from the website, tell the hateful old bitty there its ammo and she puts a couple stickers on it for me.

At work, for our ORM-D items, we just slap the stickers on the same side as the labels

The ammo I've received via UPS has blue stickers, doubt that it matters though.

According to the law, you can just write ORM-D by hand on the box as long as you draw a rectangle around it.
