can you host an iWeb built site on godaddy.com?

    i just purchased a domain name for cheap (.info but it was $2.99 a yr ) and a server account and im trying to host a site i built.

    im not good at this

    when you say you purchased a server account, what do you mean? are you paying for hosting also?

    That was a problem I had, I signed up for one of the free godaddy domains, but once I got it I never got hosting. You need to purchase a hosting package as well.

    so, say I have hosting, and a domain, etc

    Can an iWeb site be published to it?

    sure it can. if you have a domain name that is pointing to your host, then you can publish it to an ftp server. if you have separate hosting from where you got your domain name, then you have to deal with dns

    yes, I publish a portion of my website in iWeb... u just save the website folder on ur computer, then ftp it onto the server

    also, if you change your webpage often, use Captain FTP or Transmit FTP and use the "compare" feature so it'll see what's changed on the website and only update what's new and different.

    I discovered a day or two ago a super simple uploader for iweb. You publish to a folder on your computer and then run this little program and it publishes straight to any site you own. Make things a lot quicker than logging in and uploading each time.... its a freebee, here's the link: http://www.plyxim.com/free/

    publish to folder...

    copy to root directory on godaddy
    (transmit is great for ftp)
