I am looking for work. So far, I looked at SAIC and Lockheed Martin. I looked at their Intelligence Analyst Position. They want someone who has a liberal arts degree, foreign language and/or Middle East experience, and with 2 to 6 years of military intelligence experience. I have a liberal arts degree, I speak a foreign language, and I deployed to Southwest Asia for 11 months. The only problem is: I have 5 years of adjutant general experience, and not intel. Do you think if I apply for this position they will let this intel experience requirement slide and train me for the job?

Why not look for a GS position?

Order a Russian bride and have her tutor you on your writing skills.
Seriously though, look for a civil service position, DO NOT GO CONTRACTING.

Even as a GS9 you will thank me later.

I've been hearing a lot lately that it is easier to get in as a government civilian rather than getting into a contracting position.

This is going to sound weird, but as my final question I would like to ask: In civilian positions as well as contractor positions, what is the typical dress code? I am watching NCIS right now, and it is weird how they have to wear a wool coat and a suit every day. Is that how I will have to dress everyday as a contractor and/or DOD Civilian?

Polo shirt and jeans if in a position where you would possibly get dirty. Desk jobs would range between polo shirt and slacks to dress shirt, tie, and slacks.

All depends on who you work for, who you interact with, and what job you will perform.
