    Jeep crew especially!! :o

    looking at 4wd tyre sizes, whats the story with tyres (tires?) sized like this: 31x10.5R15 ???
    the normal 265/75/15 i can understand, but the other ones ? :dunno:

    my brother recently bought a 97 Jeep Wrangler & enlisted my help in finding the biggest size tyre (sidewall especially) that he can fit on the factory 15 X 7 inch rims... please? :x:

    sorry for being such a n00b. :hs:

    31x10.5R15 = 31" Tall Tire with a 10.5" wide tread on a 15" wheel

    Its actually alot easier than the damn HEIGHT(IN MM)/WIDTH (percentage of height)/wheel radius crap...

    AH! so it's 31" from the ground to the top of the tyre? cool :coold:

    so the next question is, can a 31x10.5 or even better, a 33x10.5 fit on to a totally stock Wrangler (ie: under the guards & on the stock rims) :x:

    What year wrangler? 97 or newer 31s are the biggest that will fit, 33s will fit but it will look dumb and rub hard with any suspension travel. 87-95 30s are the biggest probably

    he got the 31x10.5R15's on the weekend.. they rub a tiny little bit on the control arm at the front on full lock, but i'll fix it with a hammer when he's not looking.

    cheers :bigthumb:

    2" lift and 8" wheels with more offset would be the best way to go about it, if you plan on using the vehicle offroad :)
