Only post if you have some real info. I don't need shit like "just get a gym membership you fat lard." I'll just end up deleting the thread. OBVIOUSLY if you are able to you should get a gym membership over a Blowflex.

I now have the space (maybe) to purchase a Bowflex. I can think of 18 reasons why it is more convenient for me to have this machine than a gym membership. Assuming the same exact amount of time and effort is put into a workout plan, can you get just as big from a Bowflex than at a gym using real weights and dumbbells ?

    Btw I'm not fat

    No.

And you can buy twice the real gym equipment with the same purchase price of the bowflex.

You can think of 18 reasons why it is more convenient for you to have a Bowflex instead of a gym membership, but I can think of 180 reasons why a power rack would be a much better use of that space.

This doesnt have much to do with Bowflex, but I wouldnt ever recommend home gym equipment to anyone who hasnt been training at least one year strait. Honestly you're probably going to quit in a month and have a big clunky thing collecting dust in your home.

Squat rack and weights has brought me nothing but success. Just have to have the motivation.

Bingo! but the sad truth of it is 99% of people dont. Everyone has these get in shape binges that last a few days, maybe a few weeks, but c'mon almost noone keeps going with it IRL.

I dream of owning an Elite FTS home gym one day. Power rack, bench, GHR, free weights ...

I had a bowflex in my house, and bought a gym membership shortly afterwards. Even thought the gym was a 15 minute drive, I don't think I used the bowflex once after I got my membership. Oh, and I basically gave it away for free to a friend. That is how shitty it was.

give me 3 good reasons why a bowflex is better than a gym membership.

Just 3 solid reasons that can't be argued.

It's a one time cost, it is located in your own home so you dont have to travel, and it makes you look like a roided fitness model after doing your 3 30 minute workouts a week

Bowflex ~ $2,200+ [depending on which one]

Pay me $2,100, i will build you a rack and you will get bigger, and have an xtra 100$ for candy to lure schoolchildren to watch you work out in your garage...

What are you trying to accompish in your workout?

for 2000 bucks I could get 8.3 years of a gym membership, where I have access to not only weight training (like your bowflex) but I have access to bikes, elipticals, stairmasters, a track, a pool, racquetball courts, basketball courts, indoor floor hockey, and probably things I didn't even know existed at the YMCA by my house.

It's resistance training, so yes... you can get bigger by working out with it. However, if you stick with it, you WILL end up needing more and then you'll just end up joining a gym or buying all new shit anyway. So, what makes more sense? A $35/month gym membership you can cancel at anytime or a bowflex you're stuck paying thousands for that you'll either stop using or outgrow?
