How the fuck did Franklin get out of the armbar vs. Lutter?

Was Lutter's legs not positioned correctly?

On the other hand... Fuck Lutter... " I was winning the fight until he won "

    .

I have no clue what Franklin's experience is in BJJ, but aganist Lutter's caliber in BJJ, that escape wasn't so bad at all.

    Never back down

I just remembered; Henderson did this escape several times in his rematch with Big Nog.

Franklin looked really good on the ground though.
I love how he called out Lutters conditioning.

Its the same escape Mayhem used to get to side mount on GSP.

I use it a lot, but not against black belts :noes:

I wish my ground game wasnt that of a 10 year old.
It be awesome to see the look on my partners face after getting out of an armbar like that.

    Under Jorge ":greddy:" Gurgel.

    Good escape, though, for sure.

theres times when crossing your legs is better than keeping them uncrossed. I know every bjj instructor yells, UNCROSS YOUR LEGS. but there are many exceptions to that rule. Lutter did that armbar perfectly. He just didnt have good enough control on rich's wrist.

I understand crossing the ankles at certain points, but didnt he practically try a triangle choke without his head in

he sat back for the armbar with NO legs controlling rich's head or body. That is pretty hard to do.. and as rich was sitting up, he crossed his free leg over to stop him from coming up. It would have been difficult to lift BOTH legs up unless he wanted to completely lose control for a moment.

Doesnt the lack of Lutters right leg being across rich's body leave him completely open to roll out?
