Can you almost cure it? I have been using RX creams and pills for years, all it does is keep me from having break outs and makes it not look so bad. I just switched to Klaron and its working great. But can I ever get my face to look clear with only a little acne? I think I am going to start using Klaron twice a day. Maybe that will help.

At the risk of sounding like a commercial....ProActive worked for me.

I tried all the stuff this "top" dermatologist used on me with much less success.

I've also paid a little more attention to diet. Although it's an urban myth that diet affects acne, it still doesn't hurt to try to keep a healthy & clean body both outside and in.

There really is no one solution for everyone. Good luck.

Accutane is also expensive and linked with depressions and suicides so I've heard, otherwise I'd be all for it.

My doctor wont give that to me. Its not so bad I have syths the size of dimes all over. Has anyone used Klaron and can tell me the best way to use it? I find that with acne creams, as directed is not always the best. I know with benzol I had to use tons of it to work.

I was going to post pics but it does not look that bad. I just wish I could get rid of it. All of my acne is below my mouth and on my neck. Also my face is so oily and huge pores.

I used ProActive for less than a week and the results came very quick and I was happy. Most, if not all acne was cleared. I am now using it again.

i just started using proactive about a month ago, and while my face has cleared up a bit, the acne is still present. but it might just be the makeup that im using, i think if i switch powders it might clear up....

Proactive is what I use also. I'm 27 years old, and its the only thing that has EVER worked for me.

actually a new 20 year longitudinal study suggests that accutane is far safer than originally thought. And the link to depression is far from proven.

Still if you don't want to take it...no one's forcing you to. Those who really need it...know who they are. Dermatology textbooks are frightening things to look through. Yeesh.

Proactive? Can this be used with Klaron, because Klaron is working for me but does not get rid of it.

I'm not being a smart ass

a old time home remedy for acne i heard (never tried) works well.

it's gonna sound gross but i'm not being a jerk it's an actual home remedy.

First piss of the morning onto a wash cloth and give your face a bit of a scrub with it. go about your morning clean up routine and wash off in the shower.

Seriously not trying to be a smart ass, if you're desperate and tried everything and nothing worked, maybe give this a try (probably shouldn't tell your boyfriend or girlfriend about it though)

accutane works and all, but jesus having -terrible- chapped lips nonstop for a year+ is pretty horrible.

I used Accutane for 6 months. I only had mild-moderate acne to start out with, but now I am much clearer. However, Accutane took a toll on my skin. Since stopping the Accutane I have had 4 staph infections. I think Accutane thinned out my skin and made it more suseptble to getting them :(

I still have breakouts here and there, but they are eradic. Is it like this for you? I dont want to ever use that stuff again. It was like a crutch, sure it helped clear up the acne somewhat, but the dry skin and chapped lips (had to lube them ridiculously) out weighted my mild acne.

I used accutane for 6 months. I had chap lips at the time, but nothing horrendous. And since then I've had no negative side effects. I suppose it all depends on the person. I also have a friend who used it, and his skin peals annually. Kinda weird.

People who's docs won't dispense accutane. Retin-A is the topical form of isotretinoin.(accutane) I hear Retin-A micro is the best..
Really helped out a friend of mine. Just use a washcloth, & decent non fragranced, non oily lotion for the peeling skin.
