Im pretty sure u can, am I right?
Depends on what its for, most judges take it as a sign of disrespect though, and they will treat you accordingly.
Aslong as its a nice button up shirt and clean pressed jeans, Then you'd be fine
u can but it's poor etiquette
if you want to get off easier, dress in a suit
At very least wear propper slacks and a shirt, show some respect and the judge will be more than likely slightly more lenient than if you didnt
Find a gay judge, and wear assless chaps and a mesh vest.
If you're unsure if the judge is gay, just assume that he is. Better safe than sorry
proper is khakis and at least a polo with decent shoes. add button down longsleeve + tie for more intense charges. a suit looks like holy fuck i'm oj, send me away.
for traffic violation... yea of course you can dumbass
Yeah, a suit for some traffic ticket... what kinda asshat would do that
Wear a suit to work every day, why the fuck not wear one to court?
yeah dude.. a nice polo shirt would do... you dont have to do slacks, you can do dickies... jeans are ok too... just tuck your shit in... thats pretty much it
you should be fine. last time i went everyone was in jeans, i was in khakis
I dunno, man. You might want to leave the shoes at home.
3 peice suit minimum
top hat and caine is prefered though
You got off with a warning because you were dress appropriatly
Had a traffic violation couple weeks ago and just went in jeans and a collard shirt. Heck, you're standing behind a podium, so it's not like she's really gonna see anything except your upper body anyway.
years ago, I had a violation for cali stopping at an intersection + headphones rofl.
went in with jeans and a t-shirt at 9am, judge deferred my fines so they were off the record and I only owed $50 on $202 worth of fines.
The podium was in the middle of the aisle w/seats on the left and right, so she may have seen them, but it took me less than 3 seconds to get from seat to podium.
At any rate, if he does nice jeans and a shirt, he'll probably be dressed way better than a lot of people. One dude was in the court w/shorts and wifebeater.
He needs to have a real Boa Constrictor draped over his shoulders. If he brings a feather boa, he'll just get double-tapped in the forehead by the bailiff.
I've been to court many many times (only twice for things I've done)...
and if the judge thinks you're trying to look like a lawyer, then he'll be tougher on you.
That came from a judge's mouth.
He prefered people to appear "Working class" but dressed casually. Polo shirt, khakis, dress shoes and a belt. That way you look honest and clean, but don't look like you "can afford" a hefty fine...
He said it drove him nuts when two people would walk into the courtroom and he wouldn't know which one was the lawyer etc...
