how it is played as a sport?

I know in Greco-Roman you are trying to score takedowns, but how does it typically work otherwise?

takedowns, near falls, escapes, reversals etc, you get points for all of these, pins equal wins as well

someone can technically give up, but it's not like it comes for a torture move

any 'submission' would come from a legal hold just in turn restricting air flow so a kid would just give up and pin himself

so, if dood#1 finds himself being choked with his own arm while his opponent, dood#2, decides to have a little fun and stick his knee under the middle of dood#1;s back so he his blades wont touch, dood#1 shouldnt tap out b/c hes a wimp? ya, ill take passing out too.

I wrestled in HS and I never saw anybody give up in 4 years by tapping out. I saw people just roll over and take the pin, but generally if somethings really bad, the ref just stands you for a potentially dangerous move and that's it.

there is no tapping in collegiate wrestling. Points are awarded for takedowns, reversals, near falls, escapes, and match is ended by pin or by a deficeit of points. Each win counts for the team total and the entire match is scored on a team basis...

in the summer some guys will do freestyle or rg and the rules change, IDK b/c I was always getting ready for football or throwing during that time.

I've seen kids tap out before. And yes, if you do that, you may as well pin yourself because you're worthless if you do. What usually happens is that it'll almost always be in the nearfall position and the ref will award an extra nearfall point, stop the match and start over with your opponent in referee's position :o
