This is my one-month old son. I took a ton of pictures the other night, and these are a couple of my favorites. I only had a maroon sheet as a backdrop, so I know it messed with the flash reflection on a few of them. This first one is how I want them to look. The second one I'm having difficulties getting to look black and white using the channel mixer. I'm a photoshop noob, but I keep getting it some shade of green. Can you get it to match the first one, and explain what I might have been doing wrong?

Here is the first image, I don't think I want to do anything to it:

This one, however, is way off:

The original .jpg for the second one is here:

The .psd file with the things I've tried is here:

    Thanks!

We made a thread like 2 weeks ago on how to do it. I'll try when I get to a real computer.

Yeah, I read it through, and that's how I learned how to use the channel mixer to convert to BW. I just can't adjust it correctly to match the first image. The image I posted (the greenish one) is not my best, it was just one that I had uploaded. I've gotten a bit closer in the last few minutes, but it looks like the sepia filter now.

I'm not on my own pc at this time and Photoshop is an awesome program to use. If you are a noob, you will have lots to learn. I've use PS a lot over the last few years and I'm still learning more things about it, other little features, etc.

Keep at it, experiment with pics, and always, when you got the time, go thru whatever tutorials you come across as they are very helpful in learning more and more.
