The link you posted is the wrong speed. That is pc2700(333 mhz), you need pc2100 (233 mhz). pc2700 ram is for powerbooks. And 768 megs (256 built in + 512 stick) of ram will be great for most everything.

The faster ram will work as well, won't it? It just won't run faster than 233mhz. I am not sure of the price differnece between 2100 and 2700 though.

    **********

lot of confusion in this thread. Here's what you do.

    1) go to ramjet.com, they have the type of memory you need clearly defined by type of Mac, so all you do is click on iBook G4 and write down the proper RAM type that the machine is.

    2) take this info and don't buy from ramjet cause they are a ripoff... go to newegg, kingston, crucial, etc. and find that same kinda RAM for cheap.. order, ship, install, done.

    kthx

Some of you will think that's the dumb way to do it, but for someone who hasn't shopped for RAM before or hasn't had a mac, that's an easy way to figure out what you need :dunno:

sometimes low quality RAM or just random bad luck will leave you with a RAM stick that won't downclock though, sometimes it'll even prevent the machine from POSTing :hs: buyer beware, that's all

happens a lot with the PNY-brand RAM that compusa sells :mamoru:
