    i'm new to linux.

i have a flavor installed on my PS3, and i want to be able to update / change it without having to burn CD's over and over.

is there a way i can just throw the files from the .iso's onto a 4GB flash drive, boot from it in linux, and then upgrade from there?

    yup

    use a program called "netbootin"

then rename some folders and you're good to go
