i have a 84 Kawasaki JS550 with a 38mm mikuni carb....the black paint on the carb is starting to chip away and id rather just strip it all and have it aluminum colored (im almost positive its made of aluminum, the exposed metal so far isnt rusting or corroding, and its 21 years old)....so can i do that? just take the carb off and spray it with paint remover? i also want to do this with my intake manifold and exhaust manifold but im almost sure those are steel and will rust, but i might just repaint those

the main thing to worry about is the seals on the carb paint remover wont be so kind to them

I agree. Otherwise, sounds like a plan.
