my macbook has an edge on right where your wrist rests.
i'd love to shave down that edge, because it almost cuts into my wrist/hands when i use my macbook on my lap

however, i'm concerned that this will void my existing warranty and applecare plan

    yeah i know, overconcerned

i just don't want to have a problem a year from now and have them tell me that my warranty is void because i "modified" my case

  3. the entire warranty will not be voided however there are two thing to take into consideration:

    1. the chances of you not completely fucking the plastics on the macbook are slim to none. It will look botched, cheap and you will most likely regret it.

    2. the plastics warranty will be voided so when you fuck it up it will not be covered.

The cost of the plastics plus install is upwards of $250-$300 because you have to dissasemble the entire unit to swap everything over.

Cliff notes - it's not worth it.

Look into some soft plastic or something you can line it with.

i noticed when i got mine that it was really sharp too. it seems to have worn down after a little while, or my wrists have just toughened up. so, i would just say leave it.

why not just take some 600+ grit sandpaper to the edge :dunno: should be fine enough to take the edge off, but keep it looking pretty good

Just go to any Apple store and type on the Macbooks like you would normaly (might need to crouch to get level)

Its fucking painful, like slitting your wrists.

I  my macbok pro :big grin:
