in my windows folder, i have these there folders (they are hidden folders):

    $hf_mig$
    $NtServicePackUninstall$
    $NtUninstallKB834707$

$ntservicepack is over 500MB. the main reason i wanna get rid of whichever ones i can is that my ad-aware, spybot, and norton anti-virus all take FOREVER on those folders, and never find anything wrong in there anyway.

    :dunno:

ntservicepackuninstall can be removed if you don't want to revert changes a previously installed service pack made.

i'm not sure what to do with the other folders but i think, they're some sort of backup- or temp-folders, too.

    i hope you've made a backup?

and did you try inserting the windows-cd when those messages pop up?
