Can chalk ruin a paint job?

    Just dust? Not necesarily direct writing on the paint itself, but throwing a bunch of chalk dust onto the paint...

    Somebody did this to my friends 'Vette and he wants to sue the kid that did it for the cost of new paint... could it possibly be that messed up? :confused: Haven't seen it yet myself...

    I don't see how it could be worse than regular dust that is in the air. As long as he didn't try to wipe it off while the car was dry, I doubt any damage was done.

    i dout he gots a case ... it would not ruin the paint if it hurt it at all he could color sand and buff

    i don't think that would do any damage unless he did, like was stated, tried to wipe it off when it was dry, then it might scratch or cause other blemishes.

    but, who goes around throwing handfuls of chaulk at cars?
