Windows Media Player is quite choppy when playing MPEGs. I've got the latest version, and all codecs, and just want a smooth MPEG player.

Never tried it on Windows, but a lot of people say MPlayer works well (I know it works well on Linux).

zplayer or Zoom player is the best front end IHMO. Lots more features and handles seeking of wmv files instantaneously compared to any other player. But if you're getting choppy playback, you need to have the correct settings for your codec(s).
