can anyone explain car stereo amps (4channel, 2channel, etc)

4channel .. meaning, powering 4 speakers? like 2channel/bridged mono = powering one sub?

    i dont get it.. thanks

i have a 2/1 amp powering my sub

looking for an amp to power my headunit and 4speakers (2ft, 2rear)

You pretty much got the "channel-per-speaker" idea. Bridging = wiring/connecting an amp to drive just one driver (usually a sub) and to achieve an increase power output. In turn, achieving an increase in "volume."

You don't need an amp for your deck.

A 4 channel amp should take care of your 4 speakers... if you feel inclined to do so.
