JC since you would be the best to ask currently have these lenses with my Canon 50d.

    Kit 28-135 IS
    50mm 1.8 II
    70-200mm F4 USM
    10-22 EF-S wide-angle

Looking to replace my kit with a good lens. Do you have experience with the 24-105 F4L IS or maybe the 24-70 2.8? I need your words of wisdom.

24-70. I had one but sold it when I decided to concentrate on primes. Great lens.

I wish. My right wrist usually hurts at the end of a wedding. :wtc: My camera/lens bag weighs in at around 45lbs. At least it has wheels so I can roll it. I just realized that I may not have room for the 35 in my bag. I'll have to move some shit around.

Awesome, that is an awesome lens.

What is your setup looking like right now (lenses and bodies only)?

I've heard nothing but good things about the 35. I'm thinking that it will basically replace my 24L. I love the 24 but it's a bit too wide for a lot of my shots.

You either love the FL or you don't. I find 24mm a little too wide and 50mm a little too tight for "normal" shots. 35mm is perfect for my style of shooting.

I agree. I've been shooting a lot of weddings with the 24 on one camera and the 85 on another. I'm going to try the 35 instead of the 24 and see how I like it. I don't want to get rid of the 24 as it's a wonderful lens but if I don't use it that much after getting the 35 I may sell it. I'll still have the 16-35 to cover my really wide focal lengths.

What do you prefer between the 1Ds2 and the 5D2? And why?

I like the focusing of the 1Ds. It's a tad faster than the 5DII or 5D. Also the shutter is instant and the body is weather sealed.

I like the huge LCD on the 5DII. The tiny LCD on the 1Ds is a pain. I also like the button layout on the 5D's better. The images between the two cameras look almost identical from ISO 100 to 1200 but the 5DII is better at higher ISO's.
