MIL Camp Doha Motor Pool Explosions

    I wanted to share this with you guys. I happened to be deployed with the 11th ACR at the time and I was in the motor pool that morning. needless to say, it turned in to an interesting day.

    Well, I guess out of the two times I was there I didn't find them to be very good. Maybe it was a clouded judgement out of the fact that they think that it's a shitty deployment and when I got there I thought I was in heaven. Or that it takes twice as long to do anything there than it does in Iraq...

    I was billeted there in 2002, and lets just say it sucked ass big time

    by seriously :wtf: happened to set the Arty rounds off

    yes, but only afterwards, during the cleanup. some engineers got killed trying to dispose of unexploded munitions.

    our squadron commander was relieved of command, and "retired" early.

    it was an electrical fire. they tried to extinguish it, but it got out of conrol and being that the vehicle was fully loaded with 155mm howitzer rounds, they panicked and fled.
