Have these on order!
Gonna be a bitch with a SPR on there
You know the rules, keep it serious in here, or bans will be handed out
Rifle case doesn't close when I have the main piece of foam. It requires me to cut it first. I suck at cutting stuff out and I don't have a hot wire cutter. Can I pay someone to do this crap?
Why is that?
S'plain yourself. I can still cancel it if I made a bad move.
you can make a hot-wire cutter for really cheap. there's a link somewhere to a thread on it
Yeah, I saw the thread. However, I am not good when it comes to building shit like that. I'd get frustrated... plus how do I fit such a giant piece of foam under that small 12"x12" cutter? How would I make my turns... thing would need to be HUGE.
I think you disconnect the wire. I used to use one in college to cut foam-core. you get to a section where you can't make the corner, take the wire apart, make a new hole, and keep going from there.
or you could always make one that isn't stationary, and it's almost like a wand (have one end in each hand), but you won't get the foam cut super clean (90 degree angle)
sorry if that's kinda hard to understand, I am pre-occupied
Yeah, I understand what you are saying. I just wouldn't be able to build one. I'm not good when it comes to wiring and Radio Shack stuff.
its REALLY simple
but you could always use an electric knife (one you cut a turkey with), but it'll never be as clean as if you heat-cut it
Gonna put the scope up even higher so its gonna be harder to get a good check weld
Yeah, I want the clean cuts. Like the ones in that threat on arfcom.
Well, I guess I can always return it...
Yea I tried it on mine, was more like a chin cheek weld
or just get some kind of cheek pad/riser for the stock.
Even than wont give you a good cheekweld
Just look how high it sits. Higher than extra high rings. Also I tried with my own 700 and maybe if you had McMillian stock you might be able too.
Yeah, that does sit high.
Maybe I'll pick up a set of scope rings later on and see what I like best. I will probably shoot with it and if I don't like it I am sure Larue will take a return.
deffenetly go with some good rings.also, what base is that?
Got it off MidwayUSA. Just search, "EGW 1-Piece Picatinny" and you'll find it. It is $39.99. It's been out of stock for quite some time and when I refreshed the page today it was back in stock!
Same base i got
I would agree with Lancer..... Go ahead and try the SPR, but I can't imagine that it wouldn't even be close to ideal. The HS stocks that come on those rifles don't have a very high comb as it is.
You could sell that SPR, buy some rings, and maybe even still have enough money leftover to send your scope off to Leupy for M1 knobs (which is what I'd do if I were you).
You talking about like a set of Badger or Burris rings that mount to that pic rail? Larue will allow me to return the mount within 15 days for a refund. I will install it and see how I like it. Hell, I may even keep it around for an AR later on down the road.
What are M1 knobs from Leupold?
badger, nightforce, seekings, leupold, and a few others all make decent rings.
Oh, and does anyone know why the tip of the barrel is a gray/off white? This rifle was brand new. What is the best way to clean the outside of the barrel without leaving marks?
