those are some people's version of the next camaro, and they are relatively close to the working model from what I hear. There is a great set of pics in a recent PHR done by Kris Horton and it is supposedly the best representation to the what GM has locked away.

A lot of retro cues but with some nice modern interpretations

If there is a new Camaro, it will be based on the VE Holden Commdore which debuts in 2007. In fact all of GM's upcoming RWD cars will be that way.

Australian power + return of the Camaro nameplate? If this car has great handling, then I cannot say just how great this is. Score another hit for GM.

    Fixed.

The chassis is Australian, the rest will be red, white, and blue Grade A American beef.

the green one you posted is Hortons

    http://popularhotrodding.com/features/0312PHR_Fifth_Reloaded/

Trishield-have faith, there WILL be a Camaro, or at least a RWD coupe muscle car (Chevelle has come up according to rumours).

have you heard whether they've decided on a production facility? last I heard, it was still up in the air between the two Zeta facilites, one in Michigan (Hamtrameck I believe) and Oshawa

Not ALL of GM's RWD cars will be based of the Aussie designed Zeta though. Don't forget Caddy's Sigma platform and the small car Kappa platform which will have RWD and AWD cars like the Pontiac Solstice, Saturn Sky and potentially a small Chevy as well.

From what I've heard, with some tweaking, they can shoehorn a v8 onto Kappa which to say the least, would be interesting.

Most of them that we care about will be Zetas (VE Commodore - V8 - Aussie engineered). The Sigma is exclusive to Cadillac and the Kappa is US-engineered and shared worldwide.

The biggest engine to be put in the Kappa so far is the 3.6L V6.

won't matter anyway. GM will release a concept vehicle that will completely capture everything the public wants in a new Camaro and then the production vehicle will be detuned, different looking, etc.

Case in point, that orange "wider", more curvey GTO that will never get made. Another was the SS concept that actually had a chance to compete with the Lightning that was detuned and de-styled (if you will) that came out as a slow, non-performance truck.

GM fan all my life, but i'm getting tired of it...

Damn that car is sweet... I really hope GM gives that kid a job. This is exactly the kind of designer they need. Although like some others have said I doubt GM will produce it. One thing is for sure if they do and it looks like that one, I will do whatever it takes to buy one. I love how the door slopes in towards the top, and those fenders.

New GTO = 2007. In fact the next Camaro, GTO and a few other familiar muscle names will all be the same car structurally.
