As I am sure none of you are surprised in my over eagerness to run I brought my mile time down 3 minutes in a week already and I injured my right calve muscle in the process. I think I just strained it, it hurts like a bitch whenever I put weight on it.

What routine to help in recovery would be best?

Ice it daily? How long per day/# of times?
Should I stretch it? How often?

    anything else other than time?

and I need some e-thug.txts please and thank you :)

Not sure. I usually stretch it but not if it hurts too much.

stretch more before running next time
just take time off.. atleast thats how we would handle that sort of thing back when i was on the track team lol things may have changed though
its better to let it recover on its own than force it

Contrast baths are pretty sweet. You should be good to go in a week or two but you're going to have to work back up very slowly. In the meantime, I'd find a way to keep your cardio work going and find a better running style - lots of people at my gym are picking up on the POSE method.

When I pull/strain a muscle I just take some time off to let it heal and ice it for 20min when I can a few times a day and take 400mg IB profen to help keep inflammation down.

About a week you should be good.

Avoid stretching it if you can initially
