What are some foods that have alot of calories that are somewhat healthy? I'm trying bulk up, and I figure I need around 3000 cals a day.. Ive eaten 2 times today (I have a different schedule, so i still have 12 hours before i go to bed, and have only been awake for abotu 6 hours) and only have put down about 1200 calories, and that includes a HUGE dinner.. (1lb of salmon, baked potato and broc/carrots).. I just dont see how I can realistically put down 3000 cals a day, when Ive eaten this much already, and im just over 1/3 there..

i wouldn't classift oatmeal as calorically dense.

i'd say eggs, salmon, steak, and nuts are calorically dense

i just upped my calories, mostly carbs (wheat breads, rice), and few extra servings of lean protein, and I gained almost 10lbs in 2 weeks... although I'm sure a good few pounds are carb retained water

Add a couple tablespoons of flaxseed oil in all your protein shakes.

:werd: id say eat thorughout the day little by little, instead of having a huge dinner try to put away most of your cal intake during the day and have a smaller dinner, it will be better for you in the end

i had the same prob...i changed my eating habbits to 6-8 meals a day. i made it a point to have 1-2 tablespoons of peanutbutter for ever mean, that will give you a good 700-1400 cals added on. also i started eating one whole boiled egg ever meal, again this gave me ~500 cals, and the rest of my cals come from what
i actually eat, so a typical meal is (egg, peanutbutter, and [rice or chicken, tuna, potatoe,etc...]).

i am just over 4000 cals a day right now.

If you're bulking, just freaking eat. Structure your protein needs out and then fill in the blanks.

Nuts, cheese, peanut butter- all have a lot of calories for the amount of food. So does steak. Baked potatoes, sweet potatoes, bread.
