    How does this sytem work? the numbers are misleading it seems as I know a 22 caliber is smaller than a 9mm. Correct? So what's next? 22. 9mm. 38? this is for handguns obviously :)

    diameter of the round in inches.

    9mm in "caliber" is about a ~.357. (9/25.4 =.354)

    Judging from that graph the 44 magnum looks like it holds the most power. I was worried I was going overkill by wanting to buy a 1911.

    Just because a bullet has a larger diameter, doesn't mean it's more powerful. .357 magnum is more powerful than .45 ACP.
