I need to figure out how to calculate file size of some videos I will be taking in lab, so we can determine how much ram we will need for processing in MATlab. I will be recording at 50 fps in 800x1024 for 10 mins no sound. How big would this file be?

Depends on the strength of the compression used. Could range from a few hundred megabytes to a few gigs in size.

    Bytes per frame = 800x1024x(bit depth/8)

Number of bits used to represent color.
Typically 24-bits for a 16 million color palette, but check the specs of whatever you're using to capture the images.
