How serious was everyone in the last thread about making a small meet in Thailand? If a few are we could all start looking together for good camps, lodgings etc.

I'm in if it is next year. A plane ticket to go to Thailand anytime in 08 is nearly $3k for me. I would rather wait a few more months and save over a grand.

I'm planning on going more for tourist reasons, but would love to spend some time at a camp. I'm playing it by ear just watching kayak to see when I can get a cheap flight, jumping on it, then figuring things out form there.
My best friend is gonna meet me out there if i go (lives in Beijing) and he doesnt train, so I cant expect him to want to hang out with me at a gym all day.

i'm seriously going to go i just don't know when. it'll take a few months to a year for me to save the money and be able to take that much time off from work. so far the plan is to go to chiang mai from bangkok then slowly make my way down south back to bangkok, hit up pattaya, and go to koh samui. would go to phuket again, but i've had my fill of overly aggressive ladyboys the last time i went. i wouldn't mind staying up in the jungle in a bungalow for extended periods of time, but my girlfriend would go too so i need to make sure we hit nice resorts and such too.

well he wouldn't hangout aaalll day. two sessions. one is generally around 6 or 7am and goes 2 hours. the second is usually around 4-5pm. morning sessions are longer if you go running with everyone.

Me too. I will be going no more than 2 weeks. I really don't see myself getting enough out of 2 weeks of training to justify even going out there. So it is more for the experience than anything. I will probably break my trip into half training and half relaxing/tourist activities.

I go to Aspen every 2 years. When I'm there MMA/MT is the last thing on my mind.

I've looked at some places and found decent deals. but I was lookin at 1 - 3 month stays.

I got a great hook up at (If i rembmer right) Legends but its no where near any touristy spots. Its some rice patty in the middle of nowhere place.

Also, just because some people are interested in going for different lengths of time does not mean we can't plan it so that we're all there at one point in time!

is this monthly for the training and rent? and wheres the food price coming from?

also even though 1000 baht for an hour and a half of private training is an awesome rate you probably won't need it. you'll get plenty of 1 on 1 time with trainers during regular sessions and you'll seriously benefit from mixing in with the local thais.

food is based off of 200 a day or something like that and its all monthly. the rent can be cheaper depending on when you go and how long you are staying for same goes for training. When I factor in the price of the trip I always over shoot so I dont come up short.

you'll probably end up spending way more than 200 baht a day on food. especially if you're somewhere touristy it'll cost that for one meal.
