 I dont know if that sarcasm, i just thought it was pretty slick. I find myself in that position once in a while, it would be cool to pull off in class.

Anyone have tips for starting from their knees when sparing in class? I seem to get pulled into guard or passed right away when i try to pull guard.

You will do it a thousand times before you finally get it. Then something clicks and it gets easier every time. Don't get discouraged when you miss it.

Really helps against big guys that aren't that agile.

Is it sore to the touch?

    I've seen this House episode.

It's either sarcoidosis, an autoimmune disease, or worms.

    It's never lupus.

    Might be neuro-syphilis.

you dont have to start on both knees with an erect body.

you could start on your butt or on one knee while leaning forward.
either way, try to keep one elbow close to the knee on the same side. that way your opponent cant pull full guard on you.

I rolled with Killyin a few months ago and he was on top passing my guard and his shin hit my shin and that was swollen for like 3 weeks, the bump is still there and it was super sensitive, but whatever doesnt kill you makes you stronger.

We start on our knees too. I just pull guard. Sometimes guys'll not let me do it, but it's no big deal, cause you get to practice half guard stuff and side mount escapes.
