When I drink black tea prior to jogging I run much faster, and longer. Do I burn more calories doing that, or does the caffeine cause my body to be more efficient?

a cup of black tea has approx. 20% the caffeine of one cup of coffee, and yes you burn more calories

if you are running longer and with higher intensity then you are burning more calories.

This is a 32 ounce unsweatened black tea from sams club. I just realized it yesterday. Some times when I work out I stop at sams and get a chicken for after the gym. Then I realized I run harder those days. Realized I drink tea while at sams club.

you should get some better black tea to make at home, loose leaf, and you need a strainer

most supermarkets, right by the rest of the tea (which is by the coffee)
lipton sells loose leaf black tea for real cheap. get a tea ball if you want to be extra classy

even if you use teabags, that'll still be pretty cheap- don't waste money on the individually wrapped ones; that's just for occasional tea drinking. If you keep your bags in a well-sealed cookie jar on the kitchen counter, and drink them daily, there wont be much flavor loss.

one of my favorite things to drink while cycling is (cold) tea with a nuun tablet in there
