I have a quite complicated header graphic on my site which is about ~170KB. Every page I go to it reloads the main graphic and it looks stupid 'flickering' after every link you click. Is there a way I can either cache it the first time it loads and only call it from there, or perhaps some other javascript or something which says don't re-download the file every time? Thanks

Also - how do I make the scrollbar say on the right (grayed out) even if the content in the middle isn't long enough? I fucking hate how when some of the pages are shorter and you go to a longer (vertically) page of content, the entire layout "shifts" when the scrollbar appears.

I would suggest only using a complicated header on the homepage, and for the other pages use a reduced size (both file and dimensions) that matches the main one.
