I'm in the planning stages of building a home theatre system, and part of that system is a computer based PVR, currently used for SDtv. Since there aren't any HD capture cards that will capture from an STB I'm going to use a HDTV STB for any of the HD programming that we want to watch. The closet that I want to put all this equipment in is at the opposite end of the house, and I'm worried about signal degredation over a long cable run. From the PVR to the TV will be component video and audio, and from the HD STB will be either HDMI or component video, assuming I can get an HDMI cable long enough to make the run. I'm also thinking about putting the reciever in that closet too, and then just running speaker cables to wall plates in the main room. I'd really like to keep all this stuff hidden, and that's where all my other computer equipment is going. The only thing that i want in the main room is my xbox 360, tv, and speakers.

Will I notice any signal loss over a longer run?
