STS-122, photographed 6 miles from the launch pad on Thursday.
First one is looking a little flat, but the RAW/PSD looks fine.

Could use a little more of the ground in the picture but other than that, they look good.

nice. ive never seen a shuttle launce that close before, but I HAVE got to touch the shuttle itself. A year-ish ago, NASA had a "family fun day" where family of employees had access to the different buildings and such. I got to go inside the VAB, and the building where they repair the shuttle after it comes back. We got to walk under it and around it. It was awesome.

Also learned that the shuttle was made out of cloth and foam. I took some pix, but it was with a sony cybershot.

Sorry for being OT on your thread, but I love this kind of dorky stuff.

-#2 ftw. and the comp. is fine.

Colour looks a bit washed out, especially in the second.

    Rest looks really cool.

I think it makes them little more interesting. Maybe some more ground in the second one to make that 2/3 on the right more worthwhile.

Great pics, I wanted to be there for the launch. And I thought a 200mm on a FF would be fine.. silly me.

Maybe next time for STS-123 or 124, and definitely rent some 500mm =[

    cheers
