So another forum I post on has a "photography" section. Cliffs are basically guy brags up Sony as much as he can, calls my 40d "amateur camera", says Canon and Nikon are crap because his Sony will add IS to all his lenses. He goes on and on about how much he loves his 17mm lens with IS. :ugh: Goes out and mommy and daddy buy him a Sony a900--instant photographer!

Any comments I give are followed by "well what do you know" bullshit, so I figured I'd let OTAP look at them. 1-6 are the Sony fanboy, the rest are another guy who people think are great... :ugh::rofl:

The forum is full of morons, but I thought it'd be interesting to see what people here think... Pulitzer or pile?

the fact that you let someone who has absolutely no talent question your decisions and gear says more about you than it does about him.

first set needs a bump in contrast to give it a little pop, second needs to learn that every photo doesn't need vignette. :dunno: aside from that (and #7) there's not compositionally wrong with them, just needs a little PP work... 6/10

1-5 are better than the pics that follow.

Having said that, they're not stunningly awesome.
More of a "here's a pleasant postcard to send to Grandma" kind of feel to it.

But still better than the ones that follow. Which is also completely irrelevant from about what he thinks of your 40D.
Who the hell cares that he doesn't like your cam.

I've taken better photos than that, and I suck at photography.

gee, it's real hard to set f/2 Av and autofocus on a flower...

WTF...are you part of the "Flower Forum"? Get me some real pics. Any fool can zoom in on a flower and make it look decent.

At least #7 has some nice contrast to it. I kinda like it for that, bad composition though.

But man, I wouldn't even put that mulch picture in my lame ass gallery.

Did I mention all my stuff is taken with SD- and A-series Powershots? :mamoru:

You asked if they were Pulitzer or crap. I say they're neither. There's nothing outstanding about any image you posted. That doesn't mean they aren't good images however.

That said the Sony 700 and 900 are both excellent cameras that can take excellent photos.

None of them really jump out at me, but they aren't particularly bad technically. 9 looks a little PELF to me. 6 is just a bad subject.

Who cares what he thinks of your camera? Pros can take better pictures than all of us with disposables.

That's figures, since you're also not a 50+ older woman/grandma, which is the likely target audience.

Unless I'm mistaken...in which case I deeply apologise, Mrs. Keiphus. Send my regrets to Mr. Keiphus.
