    I had about an hour to kill before school and it was sunny. So I decided to bust out the cam.

    Why is the ISO so high when you're shooting in broad daylight?

    I am a SLR noob and let the camera do the work
    I either shot in auto is shutter speed priority.

    i think he meant auto or shutter speed prio.




    well tip, when you are outdoors and there is plenty of light, shoot at the lowest ISO possible, manually set it to 100 or 200 or whatever the lowest setting is.

    only increase ISO if you don't have enough light.

    I did mean Auto OR shutter speed

    and thanks for the ISO tip :)

    besides that, what do you guys think?

    Find more interesting subjects. In the second one the oof flower is dead center and huge, my eyes go strait to that instead of the in focus flowers.

    First two need more contrast, all of them need less fail. Stop shooting flowers and putting the subject in the middle of the frame. Shoot at an angle that you would never normally see, shoot for the entire frame, taking into account not only your subject, but the background as well, even if it's mired in bokeh.
