Screw being laptop-less. I hate having to work from a desk. Work sends me a new one when it's released (if it's released) and then takes care of the old one.

    .

when there isn't an update . What would be the point of updating it in october when MWSF is around the corner. Everyone knows its going to be about the new OS, but hte last thing can be about the redesigned laptops :dunno:

it's a holiday season coming, and a fresh lineup of products would be just what the company would need to spur demand in this down market. They have been using the same design for the MBP for a LONG time. Finally, every mac site out there says new MB/MBPs are around the coroner.

Apple has some of the most expensive personal computers on the market; and if I knew that a significant update was around the corner, I would certainly hold off to get the most out of my money.

    :dunno:

Which is only 10 days away...I was hoping they'd announce the event this past tuesday but they didn't. If the event was supposed to be big, wouldn't they send out invitations and shit earlier? I mean if they don't send them out this coming tuesday, I doubt the event will be held on the 14th. I sure hope it is though, I've been waiting forevvver

no point in going down from a MBP to a macbook, unless you just bought the MBP for the aluminum

I'm not saying its definite, but i'd say that the laptops are to get some sort of a update in october.

No, but I bought a mac pro for my workhorse, I do all my main photography editing on there.

i just want the macbook to take to class to browse the internet, or to load my pictures up when I'm on the go, or not near my desktop.

Or i may not even buy another laptop and just put the money towards something else :noes:

I moved from a MB to a Mac Pro. I love the serious power of the MP, but miss being able to surf the internet in front of my TV. :hs:

I wonder how cheap Core Duo MB's are going for...

Many Apple websites which have a good track record on posting "rumours" that end up being true before the fact are saying Oct 14th is the date that the Apple laptops will get a refresh.

It seems about the time that the Apple laptops get a refresh anyway, according to MacRumour's Buyer's Guide. Not sure why some people think it will be BS... either way, there will be a laptop refresh soon, and if the MacBook (made via Brick) are anything like I imagine, I'll be picking one up :coold:

I'll have $1250 spare, so I could realistically sell my D300 and buy a D700, but I'm not sure that I really need it :dunno:

I'd rather dump it into glass.
