it's really time to get some new rims for my 93 prelude. i know the pattern is 4x114.3 and that's all i know about rims. is there something else to look for? is offset important?

Yes offset is important. Also make sure that the rim size you choose will fit. The type of coilovers might also effect what offset you can use. Try finding first what offset will fit (This might help http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse...n_Reference.cfm )

If the rims you want comes with tires, make sure that the tire isn't too big. Hope this helps.

Can't hurt to throw this in...:

I have a set of Racing Harts that should fit your car... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7906638071&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT
    If interested let me know.

18's fit fine even if you're lowered. I used to roll a 4th gen Accord that had about the same wheel well size as a 4th gen Prelude. I was dropped 2.5" on 18"s. Rear fenders had to be slightly rolled though.
