I'm a student, but I'm currently on winter break so i don't have acess to my schools bookstore to get the $70 discount.

If i buy it online, i can get it for a slightly discounted price of $116.

Does anyone know if i show my school ID at the physical store, can i get the $70 price, or would I have to go to a College/University to get that discount?

The in store discount for students is the same as the online education discount.

I could be wrong, but Leopard isn't available at that low price yet. Because it's so new, I think it has a smaller discount, just like iPods. There is no student discount on them right now. It takes a little bit of time until they aren't brand new products. I paid $116 for mine online. My bookstore sells them for $116 also

My school does sell it for $69...so the student discount is definitely out there.

Give your store a call or something.

Wow, I'm pissed then. I guess it's too late to do anything about it since I got it when it was released and it was over a month ago.

my school is selling the license for $79. the actual DVD-ROM is separate and costs $20. it's still cheaper than buying it in the store so i guess it's alright..

word is that the institutional price is available for cheaper to make sure that it's actually students getting this price, and not anyone with a fake / outdated college ID that apple has no good way of authenticating. :dunno: sucks, but makes some sense at least.

I don't know aobut this. My 2 friends got it for 80 and 70$, from UC berkeley and UC San diego, respectively. I think currently, leopard's price varies from school to school.
