why do i keep buying games when i know i wont play them for a few months?

i still havent beaten, ME1, yet i have ME2. I have fallout 3 goty, dragon age origins, demon souls, MAG, cod4.2 (single player), (all of which i either played for an hour at most, or havent cracked the seal yet) and yet im still looking for the next great game to buy. WTF.

    who else does this?

    :hs:

I'm not THAT bad but I still do it, then feel kind of guilty :o Oh well, that guilt is forgotten once I usually start up the new game I just bought.

    I don't

If I buy a new game I'm going to play it right away

I might buy a Steam special that I won't play for a while, though

I try not to. I have a whole box full of old PS2/PS3 games, some of which I've played all of once.

I honestly don't have a backlog really. most games I've played in the past couple years have been multiplayer games.

I do but I don't buy new releases, I buy them when there is a good deal. At one point a few months ago I had like a 20 game backlog because I hadn't played consoles for a while.. and I really only buy RPGs. Now its down to about 15 games.

But the point is I bought most of those games when a good deal came up on them. So either a B2G1 Gamestop sale, a huge price drop and coupon code, found it cheap online, etc.

Like MGS4 and Valkyria Chronicles are in my backlog, but I bought both of those for $19.99 after price drops and during sales. I would never buy a game at $59.99 that goes into my backlog though.

I have a backlog....some I may never finish...BUT....about 6 months ago I stopped doing this and I play through games. If there's a game I want, I won't buy it until I finish the last one. Like today, I want Heavy Rain but I want to finish Bioshock 2 first and I think I'm pretty far into it.

Its been nice finishing games...and not just collecting them because that really does me no good.

I do sometimes, and sometimes when I don't it comes back to bite me in the ass.

I've searched a lot of local stores for stuff like Eternal Sonata recently with no luck.

Oh man... don't count PS2 games... that makes it so much worse for me.

I made a thread like this a while back about not finishing games and my list kind of just made me sad. Yet, I still go out and buy the games I'm really interested in when they come out.

I just finished Bioshock 2 this last weekend and I have 4 or 5 PS3 games I never really started and even more on the 360. I rented MLB 09 last year and loved it so I bought it when Best Buy had a sale. Now the new one is hitting and I still have 09 in fucking shrinkwrap. :o

It's gotten a lot better though. When I was real heavy into FF11, I hardly ever played any other games and they just stacked up. I have gotten through a bunch of games in the last year finally.

It won't get much better any time soon though. I was talking to my wife about what games I planned to finish or buy this year and she just started laughing. FFXIV is hitting this year and she knows once it hits I'll be done for another 2 years. :hs:

I'm honestly surprised I finished Bioshock 2 but I had some personal reasons behind buying and finishing that one.

I just started ME1 finally and know I have a ton of games to finish. Yet, all I want to do right now is go pick up Heavy Rain.

I've got a few I haven't beaten, mostly because they're too boring to finish.

    Assasins creed
    GTA4
    Killzone
    Fallout 3
    Oblivion

    Lol.

Killzone was bad, but it's at least a 2/10.

When I have a huge backlog (like now), I usually end up downloading the non-essential games :hs:

Like right now I need ME2, Assassin's Creed 2, Dragon Age, STALKER Call of Pripyat, BioShock 2, Demon's Souls, Heavy Rain, Final Fantasy XIII, Napoleon: Total War, and Silent Hunter V.

Out of these I will buy:

ME2, Dragon Age, Final Fantasy XIII, and Silent Hunter V. The rest, I hate to admit, will be pirated. :hs:

It's a good thing you can't use your PS2 HDD/HD-Loader games on your PS3 or I'd really be fucked :hs:. I still have yet to finish Castlevania: Lament of Innocence for the PS2... I've had it for like 4 years now!

I don't finish a lot of the game I buy, but I still buy the ones I want. Sometimes I'll eventually go back and finish older games if I'm in the mood though.
